Four of IBG Business’s partners were recognized by M&A Source on May 24 at the organization’s 2023 Spring Conference & Deal Market in Orlando, Florida.
Jim Afinowich, who manages IBG’s Arizona office, received Platinum Club recognition, reserved for M&A advisors that, during 2022, completed sell-side or buy-side deals totaling more than $15 million in combined enterprise value. Jim’s award marked his second M&A Source recognition in three years; he was named “Advisor of the Year” in 2021.
Gary Papay (Pennsylvania/North Carolina) was named to the Executive Club, which is comprised of M&A professionals with 2022 closed deals totaling more than $5 million. He was also a Platinum Club member in each of the two previous years.
John Johnson (Oklahoma) and John Zayac (Colorado) were Champion Award recipients for their “substantial and sustained service” to the M&A industry. The award is intended to “honor and express gratitude to those whom, without their commitment, we wouldn’t be where we are today.”
M&A Source is the leading trade association for middle market transaction advisors. Awards were bestowed for both individual and firm performance, as well as for collaboration with private equity and service provider firms.
