Whether you are a first time individual buyer, corporate development professional, or a private equity investor, it is important that you partner with an experienced M&A broker when sourcing and buying a business. In helping you achieve your acquisition and investment objectives, IBG typically has over 100 companies that are on the market or preparing to enter it. As experienced and recognized leaders and advisors in the business brokers and mergers and acquisitions profession, we fully respect the importance of executing appropriate processes in buying a business. This includes confidentially presenting qualified sell-side alternatives with relevant data that allows you to make informed decisions.
IBG’s Acquisition Search Program (below) uses cutting-edge technology and research capabilities to help locate your specific acquisition targets.
Strategic Guidance
Commitment to Confidentiality. At IBG, we take seriously our obligation to protect the confidentiality of a buyer’s business information. Before disclosing private information, we diligently qualify each prospective investor by obtaining a Non-Disclosure Agreement and the appropriate background and financial information. This information is maintained in the strictest confidence.
By registering as a buyer, you may obtain additional information on specific companies. After completing an initial buyer information profile and executing an IBG Specific Non-Disclosure Agreement a qualified investor may obtain an IBG Confidential Information Memorandum (CIM) on a subject company (approval by the subject company may be necessary in some cases). Please complete the form below to express your interest.
Buying a business is not a decision that anyone reaches lightly, and we want our buyers to have as much information at their fingertips as possible. IBG’s Investor Relations Department processes all inquiries for information on available businesses for sale. In addition, IBG registration provides the following resources to assist in your search for investment opportunities:
- Prompt access to information on currently available investment opportunities
- Direct notification by email of new opportunities meeting your acquisition requirements
- IBG’s Monthly Acquisition Update, which contains a current report of available opportunities
- Referrals to IBG’s network of financing resources and proven consultants in a variety of specializations
IBG’s resources include a full-time staff of professionals specializing exclusively in mergers and acquisitions. Cutting-edge technology and research capabilities are at your command to locate specific acquisition targets through IBG’s Acquisition Search Program, which identifies platform companies and/or add-on acquisitions to enhance portfolio holdings. Our Acquisition Search Program can help you answer such questions as:
- Where can I find the ideal acquisition targets?
- How can I avoid the competitive auction process?
- How can I best approach target companies?
- What is the acquisition target’s market value?
- How do I structure a transaction?
- Why is IBG more successful in generating prospects?
IBG’s Acquisition Search Program will make your acquisition process more effective and economical. Key advantages of this program include the following:
- Our professional staff multiplies your efforts in researching and discreetly contacting acquisition candidates throughout the world.
- Business owners respond to established M&A firms because they understand the inquiry is credible, not a competitor seeking information.
- Qualifying candidates provide confidential operating information to IBG to assist with your initial decision-making. Your identity and proprietary information may be protected as confidential, as is appropriate to the search and to your objectives.
- For candidates of interest, we will evaluate the seller’s strengths and weaknesses, business enterprise value and motivations for selling, then recommend the best negotiating position for a transaction offer.
- In completing a transaction, we are available to participate in the transaction team to orchestrate the due diligence process all the way through to a successful closing.
The Acquisition Search Program is offered on a retained-services basis, with a success fee payable upon a completed transaction. IBG team members are incentivized to perform in a highly responsive and creative manner resulting in a successful transaction.
The IBG Advantage: IBG maintains a leading middle-market presence and has successfully completed over 1,100 transactions worldwide since 1986. Our experienced team of professionals greatly enhances your own prospecting program.
- Our affiliation with over 400 other intermediaries in the U.S., Canada, and abroad provides access to over 12,000 immediate seller candidates.
- IBG’s targeted and confidential approach to acquisition candidate search eliminates the auction environment with competing acquirers and protects the objectives of both acquirer and seller.
- Since 1986, IBG has made substantial investments in proprietary information technology and databases. These resources are available to you through our Acquisition Search Program.
